I think I can, I think I can, I think I can – Give Away a DVD!

Now is there anyone who read that title and didn’t immediately think of the The Little Engine that Could?

But did you know that there is a new animated version out? No? Well there is! Actually it was just released today! Thanks to Universal Studios, here at the Milk n Cookies house (you know, as opposed to the gingerbread house) we have been lucky enough to have spent the last few weeks watching and rewatching this adorable movie!

Gerty is completely enamoured with the Little Engine, a little girl engine! Yay! Not only is the heroin a girl but there are some other amazing characters too (my favourites are the Giraffes). This classic tale has been beautifully animated and paired with the voices of a stellar cast! I mean, seriously! Whoopi Goldberg, Jaimie Lee Curtis and Corbin Bleu (I admit to not knowing who the heck Corbin is but apparently Corbin is like totally famous a la High School Musical!!!)

I didn’t pre watch the movie before sitting Gerty down to watch it and there was one scene where I did glance over to make sure it wasn’t too scary for her but she was completely unphased. Gerty is three and a half and has a very active imagination so I am always cautious when letting her watch anything, even with a G rating, which this movie is classified. Gerty absolutely loves this movie and it has now been put into high rotation which I dont mind because I really like the sound track. It has some happy little songs which are very sweet.

So for those who have never heard of The Little Engine That Could – well, I am wondering where you grew up??? But here is the official spiel:

The Little Engine That Could comes to life in an all-new feature length movie filled with fun and adventure! Hailed as; “A fun family film” Los Angeles Family Magazine. When Little Engine must leave Dreamland to deliver toys into the real world, she sets her fears aside and learns that with a little determination and courage, anything is possible.

If you’d like to have a sneak peak, just click here.

So an entertaining, fun, family animation with a great message for the littlies (and for us grown ups too really…)
